| Saw we got a new animator (yay!), who's gonna do the first person stuff. How are we going to do 1st person? Arms only? legs and arms? full body? (chest, legs, arms?) | |

| If we are going to be having large numbers of people playing we should take into consideration the amount of assets we will have to be rendering. In that case full body would probably be too much but arms and legs might be possible. It's something to look into. | |

| Crysis 2 has arms and legs. Personally I don't know any games that draw the torso\chest as well, but arms and legs seem good to me. The original had just arms, but I think arms and legs would give it a fresher feel plus let the player see the good work out modelers put in. heh | |

| It wouldn't be worth it if we had to redo all different stances for the legs (at least not for now). If we can somehow use the leg animations from the third person skeleton then it could work. We'd still have to check if the IK stuff with the feet works. Maybe we can just not disable the render of the third person mesh and use a stripped down version without head/torso. | |

| Well, I checked with a friend of mine who's an animator in the games industry and he usually does the 3rd person first, then converts them to 1st with a few adjustments for the camera and stuff. So yeah Im sure we can use the 3rd person anims for the 1st. | |

| Yeah that's pretty much how I've been doing it for MB3, 3rd person then copy them to 1st person with a few tweaks. |

That's also what Left 4 Dead does. It's a normal 3rd person model with the camera basically stuffed into its' face. But on lower graphics settings your body (outside of your arms/weapons) aren't visible in 1st person. | |

| BTW, we can have the legs in first person view, too, if desired. As we'd just be reusing the 3rd person animations it's not a lot work for a nice feature. | |
