Weapon Stuffs Empty
PostSubject: Weapon Stuffs   Weapon Stuffs EmptyThu Jan 17, 2013 4:57 am

Hai, just some things I think we should discuss about certain weapons. This is just for me so I can focus my awesome programming skills on that. Then we have a base and can do testing with that.

1. Mines:
One allrounder mine or Anti-Infantry + Anti-Vehicle?

SWBF mines (vehicle/enemy gets close -> mine explodes)
OR JKA mines (one laser which will make it explode if anyone walks into it).

2. Repair tool:

- Should it damage (enemy) people?
- Should it damage enemy vehicles?

The JKA mines will be really hard to place so no one can see them. For me the typical proximity mines are good against both vehicle and infantry .

As for the repair tool we can make it like a secret weapon is in battlefield 3 so you can kill people and sabotage vehicles. This is always good for trolling if you don't wanna use knife ;D

Also i don't know if its too early but if we make AI turrets we can make so with the repair tool you can turn an enemy turret on your side if you manage to get close to it. Or maybe seal/open sealed(damaged) doors??

You could just remove the 'beam' of the laser so no one knows where the mine is/if there is a mine. Or make it very very subtle so it's hard to see if you don't watch out. Or make it a very short beam but the actual trigger is a lot 'longer'.

We'll see about the AI turrets.

Opening sealed doors (sealed by shooting the controls for example) is a good idea, but we need those doors first, although they shouldn't be too hard to do.

I prefer SWBF mines.
This is all gonna be C++ code correct? Since that's how Crytek does their weapons, they're all seperate classes.

In any cases the laser type mines will work only for interior environments so basically against infantry.
