Ok well here is a simple type menu concept im trying to build onto. I have uploaded this pic because I figured it would be cool to see what I come with evolve and get better. Unfortunately I will not be able to animate this until friday or saturday. Im using a pc that doesn't have all my effects so I worked with what I had. Well most of it is from scratch and screen shots I had taken except for the holo-image of the blockade runner. I have a few more ideas to build off from that I think you guys will like. For now here is an early concept. If you can use your imagination, the blockade runner and the background with the RT-ST would be animated or phasing.

411remnant: Ok so So far I have a working scan animation in wmv format for the menu. Its a hologram blue and im considering changeing it to either a darker grey or a dark orange sorta like the geonosisan holotable thing was in episode 2.
What are your guys opinion about having a small com-link thing on the right side that shows different holo-images of trooper classes and vehicles?

Sharky: Really like the idea of the hologram used in the background of the menu.Even if we make AT-AT or soldier firing and etc displayed on the hologram would be awesome.
About the color i think we have to try different colors and which ones are better looking. But i think blue is like the typical hologram and i like blue

411remnant: Ok temporalry added a test video called "holo-dark blue test". Ill remove it as soon as you guys give suggestions to it. Im thinking the color is too dark.

Ooh, I like. Shame that SW VII is coming out in 2015, we could have copied their holo scheme. It could be a bit bluer though, holos in SW seem to have that tendency (dunno why, but its there.).

Cool! Which software are you using for this? You have to consider that all the separate controls (buttons etc) have to be separate images so we can assemble them in Flash. What I'm not sure of is scaleforms support for movie playback. That might not be supported => we have to animate everything in flash.
Actual suggestions on the concept: I think the font should be easier to read, and it should be more Star Wars-y. Not a lot of extra shapes etc. And a bit more blueish, Star Wars holos are blue. I'd go for a bit more plain, the future logo in the top-mid, then the controls either below or to the left of the logo with additional controls on the right. The UI has to scale on all sorts of aspect ratios, I assume 16:9(and 16:10) will be the most used so it has to look best on those. So we can't really just use images directly (unless they get stretched).
These are all just suggestions, keep them in mind but don't just agree to them!

Nice layout and ideas, but the font you've used really isn't suitable. Try some Star Wars fonts, here's a font pack I've got: http://www.mediafire.com/?5fkb0y0xhqglo14
The background image is a little bit too grainy/blurry.
Apart from that, I like it.

Test of the phasing. I did some research including menu design such as older star wars games and star wars dvd interfaces. Im thinking of having a round hud similar to this video.
Maybe include/combine elements from here to.
Though the animation shouldn't be too complicated. Just will look nice.

I love the second from the bluray disk, i can imagine it with the models turntables in holograms, battles from the game (our project), animated props/vehicles . Or with movie samples like this.

Im leaning more towards this design. I look at all the battlefront menus, nothing to over complicated is being done but still looks presentable. Im thinking I can build off of this one. Give me some suggestions and I will attempt to add them in. When I have around 3 or 4 of these that are more finalized, lephinex gave me a great idea and that we could have a poll to see which one is preferred.
Well.....lol. This here is just me trying to implement zoom shots to see if that would add any more. Well ill probably have to use different renders until the models have their textures.

ok well im looking into changing the menu text to something more blue and simple. Here is an idea for background animation, having bits of the movie play. Im not sure if this would cause or break any kind of law though, so it probaly could be replaced by actually gameplay.

Wow every time it gets better and better
Both test 5 and 6 are really good.But i like the 6th more The font is nice. It can be a a little darker along with the frame surrounding it and reduce the metal effect on the font.
You can also add the CIS and The Republic emblems since we will make them too later.Although i am not sure where you will but them ;d

I liked the others better. This has too much going on. We can add the no profit info in an Info or About menu entry. The engine info could be in the entry, too, or just use the official logo of the cryengine(not crytek3 engine ). I'm not sure about the faction logos, IMO they're too big.
The STAR WARS BATTLECRY font is great. Now make the menu entry font the same (but blue) then I'm happy.

Yeah, i thought that too. Maybe when we have enough stuff we could replace with gameplay and flythrough of the levels.

The fonts still need changing, but the background and layout is good.
I think you should add the other 2 era logos as well.

I think if you replace the blue-greenish color with the darker blue color of the frame will look perfect
