UPDATE: It looks as though the Jedi Temple and Jabba's Palace are next on the list. This will probably be enough for an Alpha.

I've just been talking to a guy who provides feedback to me called Requiemthefallen and he suggested that we make Rhen Var after we've finished Hoth.

Not only will Rhen Var use a lot of assets from Hoth, but it is also easy enough to make and provides varied gameplay.

An objective based game mode would work well with this, a sort of attack and defend mode would suit it perfectly.

What do guys reckon?

Think this map has been created to get ported into the cryengine. Fits like ass on bucket Very Happy

I don't vote Rhen Var, it is not interesting and i don't see the point of having another cold world and reusing assets for the same type of world, and there's more iconic places artists of the team would like to do, now we need an interior/city planet and maybe CW related, something like Coruscant City, Streets, the Jedi Temple, Mustafar, Kamino cloning facility or maybe stay in GCW like a Bespin map, Tatooine, Jabba's palace.

Hmmm, okay.

I like the idea of doing Bespin.

Bear in mind though that for the Beta, we're only going to make the Empire and the Rebels (due to time constraints) so we shouldn't make maps which are only suitable for the Clone Wars factions atm...

EDIT: Unless maybe we can still make Clone Wars maps but include the character models from the Empire period... That's a possibility.

I'm going to make a list and add details in that post.

- Coruscant -> Streets (Zam Wesell Chase), City (Dexter's restaurant area), Jedi Temple, Apartments, Senate
- Mustafar -> Like in the movie
- Kamino -> Clone Facility (all the facility where the clones ware created, trained, fed, barracks), Platforms, Landing Areas (Jango's Slave I)
- Bespin -> Cloud City Interior
- Tatooine -> Mos Esley, Mos Espa, Jabba's Palace, Boonta Eve
- Death Star II -> With emperor throne room etc...
- Endor -> The forest, the imperial bunker, the imperial post (the platform thingy, and the big antenna) A complete Ewook Village in the trees
- Naboo -> Theed Palace, Otho Gunga, Plain Battle, Swamps
- Felucia -> Flowers, plants and fauna everywhere
- The Invisible Hand -> Escape pods, Big hangar, cannon section, command bridge, elevators
- Tantive IV
- Geonosis -> Arena, Droid Facility, Big battle

In my opinion i don't think putting another snow map for our alpha is good.
Cloud city will be nice with flying vehicles or Yavin. Or if we want some close quarters map i vote for Tantive IV or Death Star. But not so much for Tantive IV since its gonna be too small map.

I was thinking of Tantive IV.
Points:
Easy to model: lots of cubes and geometrical shapes.
Different gameplay and environment from Hoth , hoth is wide open, Tantive is Close Combat, lots of side passages. suited for control points.
Another iconic level.
I loved the orginal map (ok, that doesn't count Razz).

Rhen Var is not such a good idea because we want to offer variety in our beta to show what we can do.
It is also easy to make to release as a quick update to keep people happy.
